Yes more cards would slow it down but the Ref can only call what he sees. And it warrants only a yellow anyway (unsporting behavior) unless it's repeated which isn't likely. I'd like to see a FIFA review of games/plays and if they conclude there was a deliberate attempt to bring the game into disrepute, they could fine or suspend players or clubs.

Yeah, something needs to be done about this crap. It's ruining a once fine sport. I understand that there's a lot at stake in modern football with high wages, sponsoship deals, commercialism etc but that is no excuse for this to happen.
I second the call for post match video analysis of questionable moments and if found guilty, their clubs should forfeit points. If a player loses lots of points for a team, no one will want to hire him in the future and that would help sort the men from the boys. I'm not sure fines are the answer considering how much these people earn but suspensions are worth thinking about too.
