Private Sub btnFin_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnFin.Click Dim NUPS As String = txtNewId.Text Dim NUID As String = txtNewPass.Text Dim con As New OleDb.OleDbConnection con.ConnectionString = "Provider = Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source = C:\storage area\database.mdb" con.Open() Dim da As OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter Dim strSQL As String strSQL = "INSERT INTO tblUser (UserId,Password) VALUES ('" & NUID & "','" & NUPS & "')" da = New OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter(strSQL, con) MainMenu.Show() Me.Hide() End Sub Now the code builds successfully but when i go to test it i check my database and find that there is no data in the database could anyone please help, i will be ever greatful :D also one other query what would be the best thing to use to generate a time table using VB 05 which gathers data from my database? thanks again in advance ^_^ |

Re: Visual basic express edition 2005 help :(
Have you stepped through the code to ensure you aren't getting any errors openning the connection? Also, when you get it working, you'll find that you reversed your values (check your DIM statements).
Check your strSQL after it's built to ensure that it looks okay for ' and " just in case. Are you sure the table name is correct and there aren't any security contraints on it? Are there other fields in the table that are defined as required (NOT NULL) that you aren't filling in? This will also prevent the creation of records. |
