I guess the CIA must have screwed up. The soldiers follow orders. Someone must have given the order to attack. If it was not the CIA it was another agency, I presume.
Although, the intelligence would have come through the CIA.

I think it was moreso the Pakistanis that screwed up and fed old information (I do believe the building was used by terrorists at one point). The Pakistanis said it was a 50/50 chance.. and I'm wondering why they would say that if it was themselves who provided the intelligence.

I have no doubt they did, and I have no doubt they got something in return, but it would not be wise on their part to admit to it.
