Burqa Bans

Not sure where to put this but it does involved politics so here I go ...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4549730.stm

I personally have no problem with muslim females wearing the burqa. The fact that that officials claim it to be a security threat that there could be a terrorist under that is a bit ridiculous.

Why not accuse someone of being a terrorist who wears a baclava? I don't see them being banned.

Although the Netherland government has not yet passed the law, simply suggesting it has caused controversy.

Geert Wilders: "That women should walk the streets in a totally unrecognisable manner is an insult to everyone who believes in equal rights,".

Equal Rights? What happend to freedom? The freedom to have free speech, wear what you like, and express yourself? I think this politician needs a reality check.

Your thoughts?

It is an unfair sterotype, however it is a true one. Many terrorists are muslim. Maybe they should take action on fellow muslims so this sterotypes doesn't exist.

That is a good way for someone up to no good to disguise themselves.

all they are doing is making themselves stick out even more by wearing them. You guys logic doesn't make any sense. Who do you notice more, the person with a tan (and if they are European Muslims they don't even have that) or the person with a big veil on?

If we went by you two guys logic it would make more sense to force them to wear the things.

This is stupid. You get fined for wearing too many clothes there, you get fined for not wearing enough clothes . Trust me on this one guys, you can't win in the Netherlands.

Yeah good point. The Netherlands are a tough place to win an argument like that. They have a huge muslim population.

Would not, if this law is passed, create havoc and possible future attacks from terrorists?
