This is all going horribly off-topic but it's an important subject nonetheless.

The fact is that 97% of the US media is controlled by 5 corporations. Now what makes you think that the public get a fair and objective picture of the news?

I'd agree that the news, especially in the UK has a left-leaning bias and this usually manifests itself the form of political correctness which serves only to stifle open, honest and fair debate. However, in my opinion, the media is used by the secret global government, largely to keep itself out of the public eye.

Now I can't prove to you that there is such a thing as dark and subversive secret government, anymore than you can prove to me that there isn't, but I would encourage you to look into it for yourself and come to your own conclusions. I'd recommend checking out the websites in my sig for more information.

I never said that, I said they are slanted to the left and that it is not fair and objective. Please do not put words in my mouth. I said they could say what they want to and that was slanted left. The corporations or those with money can very well slant the news, but that is a long stretch from a subversive secret government. Those that are not controlled by the large corporations have all the freedom to say what they want without retribution from the government in this country.

I am aware of that, but you need to be aware since you do not live in the states, you may not know as much as you think you do about our government. I mean, if you ever get the government fixed in your country (good luck with that one), then feel free to tell us about our government, but I don't think you can get yours fixed, so don't tell us how ours is. Tell you what, I promise not to tell you how the secret and subversive government is in your country if you don't tell me how ours is in this country.

First of all, I watch very little of that glowing idiot-box in the corner of the room that you refer to. Second, I don't need to read the links you have given me, because as a Post Graduate educated American with degrees to prove it and working at the University level, I am pretty competent at research.

Therefore, I can think for myself and know very well how to get resources. Lastly, I have looked into the things you have said and have made up my mind in an educated way. Your government may have a subversive secret government, but the USA does not.

Oh, you are correct about one things you said. This has gotten quite off topic, so think I will find something else to deal with so the thread can get back on topic. Therefore, post away and I won't offer any more rebuttal to your far-fetched balterdash.

Anyone want to point out that O'reilly's point about the kids not being allowed to wear/use/whatever red or green was flat-out wrong? The superintendent actually sent him a letter asking him to retract the statement, and that in the future he have his fact checkers to do a more thorough job of confirming the facts before he airs them: "It would be our hope that you would engage in fair and balanced reporting of this nationally recognized school district in the future," wrote PISD's attorney.

So yeah. In my opinion, BO is nothing but a self-promoting, pinhead-calling nutjob. And yes, Bill, I have the right to say that about you on the internet, stop crying like a little girl.

The guy quotes editorials to discredit newspapers. Even if that paper is crappy, how does an editorial do that?

I listen to US talk radio practically everyday so I know alot more about your country than you might think.

...And don't get me wrong here, I love America! In fact I prefer it to the UK which is a dingy little overpopulated lsland...And don't talk to me about other European countries!
