Rove and now Libby, is there fire where there's smoke?

now that two top officials in the Bush administration have been confirmed as sources for two articles revealing Valerie Plame as a CIA operative this administration needs to come up with some answers.

Not on but two right hand men have been identified as "leaks" is it still possible to say "the Cheny and Bush didn't know."

In my opinion, this is a scandal any way you look at it. The only thing to decide is how big a scandal it is.

It is a scandal, indeed, and the results could have been very, very bad.

Truely, this could have, quite literally, endangered national security.

I don't necessarily think that heads must roll, but only by discovering the truth and using it a an abject lesson can we help to prevent this kind of thing from happening again.

The DeLay thing is small, but to a democratic prosecutor, it is big. Theyll cuff him and the Dean's and moveons will play it till it dries up. the Frist thing is even smaller. If you can't beat Bush, as long as you hit close enough to him, it might hurt him.

Great guy that Dean, finally a democrat with some balls that has the power to use them.

It's a small thing that has big national consequences; namely that he was able to use these monies to get a Republican majority in the TX legislature - who then gerrymandered the congressional districts to help ensure that they continue to be reelected.

So is it partisan? Absolutely. Both ways.

Not only is it possible, it’s exactly what they'll say. It’s a lie, of course, but that has never been much of a hindrance before.

There’s a long tradition of this, going back as far as I’ve been old enough to be aware of it – and undoubtedly much further. Nixon called it plausible deniability. Reagan just couldn’t remember. Clinton obfuscated to the end. And the really terrible part is we don’t care; at least not enough to do anything about it.

I totally agree with you there. Non-partisan politics is an oxymoron.
