I am back
During my boycott the liberals in this place have ran unabashed in MY forum. Next week, I will be back to clean it up and defend the right.

Re: I am back
Normally, both as a new member and a fellow of fairly liberal beliefs I wouldn't post in reply here. But after looking over some of the policies of current liberals I was rather...annoyed.
Welcome back, strange and powerful man of whom I have no prior knowledge, I'm sure having you back will be wonderful! |

Re: I am back
Actually, the Right has been right a lot. Especially on matters like the importance of a strong national defense, and fiscal responsibility. Unfortunately, the current trend among NeoConservatives is to confuse the terms "strong national defense" with "blank check" and to support way too much power in the hands of the executive branch; particularly when it comes to war powers and domestic surveillance, and torture.
All the Founding Fathers, along with Eisenhower, and Goldwater are spinning in their graves so fast it's amazing we don't have volcanoes in their cemeteries. NeoCons have also replaced the old paradigm of "tax and spend Democrats" with "tax cut and spend Republicans" making the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq the only wars in our nation's history to be "financed" by tax cuts. Finally, the Republican's have jumped into bed with the most extreme Christian fundamentalists, who have taken every reference to "God" in the Constitution to mean their own narrow and perverted view of Christianity, while ignoring all the writings of the Founding Fathers that expressed deep spiritual values while avoiding sectarian views.

Re: I am back
Still pretty slow here. None of you Republicans seemed to wish to speak up, so let me talk some more about Pastor Rod. Here's another guy that has endorsed McCain, and John has just smiled and sucked it up. In the case of Hagge, I think Johnnie has disavowed some of Hagge's positions, but still accepts his endorsement. If that isn't pure hypocrisy, I don't know what is. I haven't found any statement by McCain regarding Parsley, and I think this bozo makes Hagge look tame.
Let me share some more Parsley wisdom: http://youtube.com/watch?v=cPmw5EABWmE Here's a simple question for you Republicans. Is this the kind of thought you want associated with your party? I'd really like some responses, and a simple "yes' or "no" is adequate. Based on my previous experience, you don't have the guts.

Re: I am back
No its not... but what is to stop people from endorsing? And its not that they are sucking it up... what he is sucking up to is the amount of follows these people have that will vote...
I don't like unions in much the same way I don't like religion... should I be blasting the left when they get a union endorsment, like many people blast the right when they get a pastors endorsment?

Re: I am back
Thanks drew! I respect the fact that you always stand up for what you believe. Sorry for poking you to just get a rise. The problem with endorsements, is that they're like I.O.U.s. There really isn't much about the political process that is idealistic. Candidates run for office because they want a payoff. Could be graft, prestige, oral sex with White House interns, whatever; and campaign contributions and votes work the same way.
So, accepting an endorsement is exactly like any other debt. You pay it, or pay the price for defaulting. That's why McCain keeps moving right. It isn't necessarily representative of his personal views, it's just what he had to do to get party backing. And the bills will come due. Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas.
