Yup... its Bush's fault people didn't have savings account... its Bush's fault that you decided to invest your money into high risk investments... its Bush's fault you lost your job...

Because we all know the President is the sole power of the government...

@Mimo2005
You forgot one thing. He looks like Alfred E. Neuman.
I'm counting the months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds for that bozo to be out of office. Then start worrying about the next one.

Re: Americans unload prized belongings to make ends meet

You honestly believe that Bush is responsible for the supposed use of torture? Not everything goes straight to the top, you've got to find evidence on that one before filing accusations. Falsified intelligence? Wrong intelligence can be an option... Not always a binary - lying or correct. Suppression of climate science? Big f'n woop. Al's done enough blabbering about it all to do us all in. Bush is responsible for Enron? What planet are you from? I think Enron was caused by greedy executives... Oh, and Bush can do diddly squat as far as controlling the economy is concerned. The Fed controls the economy much more than the Federal Government, and the Fed is very independent. Bush isn't the chairman of the Fed BOG - nor does he actually have infinite power over the Federal government...

Basically, 75% of the stuff on that list is not at all related to Bush's doings, but to the many other factors going on. The president of the US does not set oil prices - OPEC and the oil companies do. And OPEC has the stronger control... The factors behind the rising prices is increased demand - India and China are quickly rising in their use of oil - the US demand isn't shrinking either. Add to that the fact of peak oil. The war may have had some effect in rising the cost of oil as well, but any response to 9/11 would have had the same result - sad truth is, most of the known terrorists reside in the Middle East where the oil is. OPEC is controlled by middle eastern nations, which would explain that effect. (I can't imagine a response to 9/11 that did not entail some violence. Diplomacy does not work so well with people who are willing to fly themselves into buildings in order to kill you.)

Not that I'm a fan of Bush, but it's much too easy and socially popular to bash him these days. Accusing him of causing problems that are for the most part out of his control is silly. If he signed a letter of some sort or otherwise acted in authorizing torture, then accusing him of being responsible makes sense - but otherwise it is just a baseless accusation. Same with the other items...

Judging by most of today's students, he will most likely just be forgotten within 20-30 years... Like most people know a lot about Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, or any of the other presidents besides Clinton, Reagan, Lincoln, and the few other obviously huge historical figures .

Torture is not the topic here people.....

It is sad about that. I have been blaming it on gas prices for years.
