Pizza.com Worth 2.6 Million Dollars
A US man has sold the domain name pizza.com for $2.6m (£1.3m) - after maintaining the site for just $20 a year since 1994. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7331042.stm
I know this isn't very political, but it made me laugh! For those of you unfamiliar with the D.C. area, Potomac, MD. is some of the most expensive real estate in the area, and home to some very wealthy people. 12-13 years ago I frequently traveled into Georgetown on business, and I usually took 495 to River Road. River Road outside 495 was Potomac, inside was still nice, but less affluent. One of my favorite signs heading to Georgetown advertised a housing development with "homes from the low $700s". I guess the old cliche is true: "the rich get richer.."
