Re: McCain's ties to Airbus could cost him votes in Kansas
With all time high production backlogs, and a secure position as the United States' largest defense contractor, I don't want to listen to Boeing's pathetic song and dance. The process to choose a replacement for our aging tanker fleet was one of the most open and above board contract awards ever. Airbus clearly had a better product at a better price. And, they are going to build a factory to produce the planes right here in the U.S. Heck, it might even be in Kansas.
Not really. Most likely it will be here in Texas. Still, any impact on overall voting by disgruntled Kansans isn't really going to be significant. McCain's candidacy will fail because his party's agenda has failed.

LOL, I had the misfortune to live in Wichita for a while. Not a bad city. But I see more trees on my property in Ohio than I did in all of Sedgewick county.

Re: McCain's ties to Airbus could cost him votes in Kansas
Good observation.I was surprised when the Airbus news broke. But in many ways it actually looks good for the US. If the decision is reversed in the courts, then it would actually look very bad internationally. If Boeing wants to compete then it actually needs to be competitive. And if this order gets Boeing to buck up, then it may be good all round. Last edited by EnglishPaul : 03-24-2008 at 02:04 PM. |
