Re: Ron Paul sets new 1 day record - raises 6.1mil in 1 day
You don't become the leader of the most powerful country in the world to listen to others on how to run it. This president has made that pretty clear, and even reiterated it, saying that he hoped next GOP nominee wouldn't listen to popular opinion. Sounds like a big believer in democracy to me.

Re: Ron Paul sets new 1 day record - raises 6.1mil in 1 day
I personally like Bush, he has had more balls than anyone since Reagan, there are just some things the american people really don't want to know. Although he is far from perfect. But who is. I like 99% of Ron Paul, but I feel he has a week forein policy.

Re: Ron Paul sets new 1 day record - raises 6.1mil in 1 day
Ron Paul has a problem he hasn't addressed. That is the problem with nazis, skinheads, and others of that ilk who are openly supporting him. He needs to get that cleaned up.

I see he's not disavowing the support of nazis, skinheads, and others of that ilk. He needs to do it.

If I am recalling this incorrectly, please tell me. I believe he did address those supporters on the Glenn Beck show earlier this week. Also keep in mind alot of those groups tend to throw their support likened to throwing a wrench into the proverbial machinery.

Here's the transcript.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIP.../18/gb.01.html I didn't see anything about nazis or skinheads. The only group I noticed being mentioned were the 9/11 conspiracy nuts. |

Re: Ron Paul sets new 1 day record - raises 6.1mil in 1 day
My bad, thought it might have been here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JNiQuUia1I but it wasn't either(Thanks RedScott for the link). He denied any conection with those groups but I am unable to find where I heard him say it. I will continue to look. I really don't think he would be knowingly conected to those types of groups, but that is just my opinion.

Re: Ron Paul sets new 1 day record - raises 6.1mil in 1 day
What an incredible non-issue. We have candidates who have stated in debates that they would preemptively strike Iran with a nuclear bomb and we're worried because an *** gave Ron Paul 500 bucks. A better question than if Ron Paul agrees with them (which he already stated he didn't) is why do they support him? Is it due to his views on race? No, in fact if you read their stupid forum they say that's a negative for him. What they like is the fact that he is against favoring one nation (Israel) over others. He's for a neutral foreign policy. Obviously that's going to appeal to people who are both stupid and hate jews and think America is *helping* Israel by funding them (which it isn't). They also like his immigration stance because he's actually FOR enforcing the laws we have.
Read their stupid forum. They say he's not a racist. They say he's not a nationalist. |

Re: Ron Paul sets new 1 day record - raises 6.1mil in 1 day
You guys can argue in favor of his support from hate groups all you want. All he has to do is disavow it and tell them to go somewhere else. When he starts getting more and more attention, you can bet this stuff will suddenly become an issue, a big issue, and he will have to do something about it. He should have already done it.

Re: Ron Paul sets new 1 day record - raises 6.1mil in 1 day
RedScott, wemay not agree on everything but in this case I agree 100%. It is a non-issue. If people want to aurgue about this, they are letting the more serious issues go by them.

Still, they do have a few more things in common. Both Presidents pushed massive tax cuts that largely benefited the wealthy at the expense of the middle class and which resulted in record deficits, a sluggish economy, and record mortgage foreclosures. Bush just beat the 1986 record set under Reagan. Both Presidents undermined the Constitutional limits on executive power by ignoring any laws which they felt were inconvenient, and both Presidents were responsible for massive increases in the Federal bureaucracy. And, bruiser, you are absolutely correct when you say Paul needs to distance himself more from some of the extremist groups that support him.
