How long will it take
Ok I believe both sides of the Global warming story. They both make good arguments..
If people like Al gore are right and we start tomorrow it still will not matter as it will take us 20 years at least to get off of oil.. If the other side is right then we should just do to get off of oil still.. But no one ever mentions Russia? They are the leader in Oil...They make the most. I mean if I have pay for my carbon emissions I will sue the government, as I was told carbon was safe to have man lol..But really how an they defend against it when they are the perpetrators in this?

Re: How long will it take
If I had a country, but the only way I could keep that country running was to import oil, I would see that as a bad situation.
If I knew oil was running out, then I would see that as a very bad situation. If I had already had the price of oil inflated to silly levels, which left me poorer and other countries richer, I would see that as a bad situation. Finding alternatives for oil is just plain sensible. And thats not because oil is bad; it's just because you don't have enough of it and so someone has your balls in a vice. So keep your balls in a vice, but point a gun to the head of the person nearest the vice; or remove your balls from the vice? I know what most people would choose. Re: How long will it take
For the United States to stop using fossil fuels without cutting back on the amount of energy spent, over 400 new nuclear plants would need to be built. Of course they would not have to be nuclear plants, but you get the idea. This is something I heard from a retired chemical engineer, so I don't have any sources.

Re: How long will it take
It always surprises me that we have not found a way of reducing the harmful products of fusion. But I am no nuclear physicist, and I'm sure the reasons are good.
