Unfortunately, this is the sort of behavior that has made the State Legislature an embarrassment for decades. I had a friend who had served in the Legislature in the '50s, and he used to tell absolutely appalling stories about his experiences. Many were hilarious, but still appalling. For anyone who wants to see my state humiliated in more detail, I suggest you read any of Molly Ivins books.

I think they should allow me on that floor as a resolution that states "any house member who votes for another member of the house will be arrested, tried and if convicted with spend a month in prison"

Let me in that rooma nd i'd run across the floor punching every button I could for yes, then simle as I laughed :)

It didn't look like they even had a quorum. There should not have been any discussion taking place, let alone voting...

It could only happen in Texas right!

I wish it were only one state but I've a feeling its no different in any of the other 49. Once in power the only job is to stay in power. All the more reason we need term limits at every level of government- from Dog Catcher to the US Senate.

How about we give them free sneakers and jerseys , like this each can vote for more than 6 to 8 times at once in less than 3 seconds, its not easy to vote fast while wearing a suit and shoes .
