I'm suprised nobody has said much about this yet...
http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/08/13/news/rove.php Whether or not you believe the hype that he was the architech of Bush's Presidency...you have to wonder what effects this will have on the rest of Bush's time in office. Personally, I think fairly low of Rove...although you have to respect the fact that he's done some pretty rediculous things and has never seen jail. I'm hoping that the rest of Bush's term is going to be low-key and that his departure won't throw things into more chaos...but you never know. |

Re: Karl Rove Steps Down
It pretty much says that Bush will ride out the remaining 17 months of his term...
His style of divide and conquer pretty much backfired. Republicans are divided and the Democrats are (at least a little) more united. But you have to hand it to him: he got Bush elected - twice - so there has to be genius there somewhere... |

Re: Karl Rove Steps Down
I'm hoping he fades out quietly...but presidents typically like to push a bunch of junk through when they are about to leave office (like pardons - no doubt Libby will be pardoned at that time).
I definitely agree that there is something to behold with how he got Bush elected. I really have doubts that all of it was legal...but there's "twisted genious" in there if you're open to realizing it :P |

Re: Karl Rove Steps Down
Unfortunately, while Rove may have "stepped down", he failed to do it in front of an oncoming truck. His influence in the Republican Party will be felt for years to come. As a Democrat, I'm laughing until I wet myself.
