They say Chinese is harder to learn than english. Their language is based on tones, so depending on how you say dow du wa you could be saying hotel or tiger.

My friend at work is from Shanghai. She has taugjt me some and 40s is correct. Too hard to learn. (But English is still hard for her so I guess it's a wash.)
