Cut and run.
That is the Democrats plan. A good point is the Dems don't have a plan. Even if there is a mess, it doesn't mean that the Dems can just say "we didn't start it", if they have no plan, they, plain and simple don't deserve a vote. |

So your plan is to reward the guilty party? That will teach them not to screw over the American people again!
BTW I'm just curious, what does anything you said have to do with what yustr said?

Hi,
I don't doubt a bit that Yustr has a plan and maybe even a good plan. However, the sad thing about this one is that the Democrats in Washington who run things only have their eye on the "Cut and Run" strategy. I suspect that Yustr would not do that....I don't know why, just a gut feeling. It is certainly too bad that "normal" Democrats with the philosophy of the original Democrat Party like Yustr aren't permitted to shine through. There are some good people there, but they are stiffled by those self-serving itiots like John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Barny Frank, Al Sharpton, etc., and that host of losers who make the party look bad. Here in Indiana, it is sad state when Democrats don't even offer up an alternative to someone like Richard Lugar, the Republican hackey. The Democratic party didn't put a candidate on the ballot. I don't understand that because we have Evan Bayh as a Democrat Senator, so a Democrat is electable. I happen to vote (already did) by absentee ballot, and had to select a "libertarian" candidate because it was the only alternative to Lugar. That is so sad. Yustr, just to keep this interesting, do you wish to tell us what your plan is?

Make that Wednesday... by this time next week all of US and British troops would be in Kuwait.
Then I'd ask the UN, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan to call a meeting of the supposed leader of the waring factions and attempt to stop all violence against each other. It will then be clear to those countries that they need to help create some sort of stability in their neighbor least the violence spread to them. At the same time I would announce that by 2015 (yes eight years from now) we will not import any oil from the middle east. How? I'd spend a fraction of what we're spending on the war to dramatically adjust how we use energy. I've outlined my plan before in these pages but basically they stress proven conservation measures - just done on a massive (national security) scale. Will we look bad? Sure. WIll we loose face? Sure. Will our puppet loose his position? Sure. Will we still be the worlds strongest economic and military power? You betcha. "Cut and run". So what! Substituting slogans for ideas might appease the hipnotized, but it does not help move the discussion forward. My idea is at least a starting point. What's yours? Tumble, I know you're expecting a more main stream approach but I just can't see how anything except immediate and total withdrawl will make things better. Our presense just gives an excuse to allow them to kill each other - what they've been doing on and off for 3000 years. Unless and untill we remove that common enemy will they be forced to address their problems Last edited by yustr : 11-05-2006 at 09:10 AM. |

And I wholeheartedly agree that we need to drill in ANWR in oder to reduce our dependence on OPEC oil. We should drill in ANWR, and I have heard that by 2010 hydrogen will be a likely energy source, that could be used by the masses. So by 2015, you could make the announcement that we will not be using foreign oil. And we wouldn't need to conserve, thus preserving our economy. If we want to preserve, we either need to ration (economy killer), or else hike prices up to increase equilibrium (economy killer). I would not flood Kuwait with troops, I would stick in Iraq, with current troop levels until the Iraqis can take over, which will be in less than two years, then we can redeploy about half of the current troops to South Korea. We could control the Iraq borders with about 50,000 troops (mainly near Iran). This way we have a problem solved! What would putting 500,000 soldiers in Kuwait do? Easy target for Iran? |

We couldn't do this one without looking really evil, but mathematically it is guaranteed to eventually work:
We leave Iraq, focus everything on securing the boarders and let the country go to hell al qaeda or whatever other dictator take over, then you invade again. You repeat this process until there is a non Muslim democratic Iraq. I call it the evolution strategy.
