Video : Halliburton ambush

VIDEO :
http://www.iwilltryit.com/haliburt2.htm

A dramatic home video obtained by ABC News shows U.S. troops apparently abandoned a truck convoy after it came under insurgent attack in Iraq last year.

Three unarmed Halliburton truck drivers were executed at point-blank range once the troops left, according to a surviving driver, Preston Wheeler, of Mena, Ark., who taped the scene. "They was murdered. To me, they was murdered," Wheeler told ABC News in an exclusive interview broadcast Wednesday on World News and Nightline.

The tape shows an armored personnel carrier leading the trucks that Wheeler says was from the Virginia National Guard. Once insurgents opened fire and disabled four trucks, the personnel carrier can be seen racing ahead.

"They left. They, I don't know where they went, they're nowhere to be seen," Wheeler said. Wheeler says it was 45 minutes before a U.S. military force returned.

By then, Wheeler says, he had seen two drivers shot at point-blank range. He identified them as Keven Dagit, of Jefferson, Iowa, and Sascha Greener-Case, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.

A Pentagon spokesman said the military had no immediate comment on the incident. The tape documents the final 15 minutes of the convoy's run out of Camp Anaconda, near Balad, Iraq.

Wheeler says the military commander took a wrong turn, and the convoy ended up in a neighborhood known as an insurgent stronghold.

Wheeler says Halliburton did not provide any of the drivers with maps or even rudimentary drawings of the location. He says when he was hired by Halliburton he was promised the trucks would be equipped with bullet proof glass and armed guards every third truck.

"That's a lie, it's a gimmick, a sales pitch," Wheeler said. Wheeler says he was told not to talk to the press. A Halliburton security guard wanted to delete the video of the ambush so that it would not become public, he says. "He was afraid it was going to get on the Internet," Wheeler says.

A spokesperson for Halliburton declined to discuss the specifics of Wheeler's accusations and tape. The spokesperson says its employees sent to Iraq are fully informed of the risky nature of the assignment.

Wheeler was hit by two AK-47 rounds and suffered serious damage to his right arm. Two months after the ambush, Halliburton notified him he was fired, citing a "work-related" injury. The video was made by one of the truck drivers, Preston Wheeler, of Mena, Ark.

If it is true, I wonder why it is not being played up the same way as Abu Grahib was? Maybe they haven't linkeed it to Bush yet.

Nice that the first link doesn't work.

Coverup? Yes I can believe it. I'm sure there is a lot more incidents that they're not telling us. But of course the ? administration can't let that out in the open. All it will do is bring down morale and support.

This story came out several weeks ago. You'll probably have to do some real work to find it by this time.

I did more research and mimo's version is very accurate, I would hope to learn a little more about the story. I have never been a conspiracy theorist but this seems feasable: The G.I.'s drove the Haliburton people into danger on purpose because they were mad at the administration. If there are soldiers guilty in this, I hope they face the consequences.
However, I am pretty sure all over the United States you cannot fire someone for a dsablility or an injury, you must find another desk job for them. I just hope the media doesn't convict the soldiers or Haliburton before the truth is found. The media has all to often convicted people before an actual ruling was made (Jon Benet).
I am sure if this was a coverup on the largest scale that Haliburton would be smarter than to fire someone illegally. There may or may not be something to this story, maybe there is gross exageration, maybe there is mostly truth... hopefully we will find out which

This is why I'm against the army mixing with civilians. They shouldn't be put in the position of dealing with civilians, that's what police are for.

You mean the Army escorting people around Iraq? Probably very true. But the Iraqi police have been so corruptable it puts us in a dilema... I have heard of a company who "sells" professional protection to civilians in Iraq, the protect about 1000, and only about 10 have died, not too bad, and kep the civilians out of the Army's way.

If there is a private company providing "mercenary police" to persons wishing to hire them, they probably don't follow any rules of engagement. They do what they have to do anyway they want to do it. But, I haven't heard of any of these "guardians" or whatever they might be called. Doesn't mean they don't exist.

Exploitation of people is not a mandate of capitalism, it's just a bad side effect when it's administered improperly.
