Certificates

I have recently decided to get a whole slew of certs to further my career. Starting with Sec+ then onto MCSE, CCNA, CISSP, and CEH. I have started to learn about programming in C# as recommended by some of my IA buddies as well as packet analysis and relearning the basics of networking. Please if anyone can give me a hand on what else I could learn in order to become CEH as that is my ultimate goal and the others are in a way stepping stones to it, please help. I have never hacked and I am trying to get into the game to the point of running a red and blue team. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome please email me. In subject line tag it with CEH cert or something of that nature. Thanks in advance for all your help.

As for the subject on hand:

I assume you wish to specialize in IT security? I should note that pen-testing (penetration testing), which I assume is why you want to get the CEH cert, is a very niche position, and getting a job as a pen-tester is very difficult as there are few positions for it.

Are you currently in the IT field right now? What do you currently do? What certifications and experience do you currently possess?
