MVP stuff I got today!

I got my Bling from Microsoft today, but they spelled my last name wrong. Its Kelly not Kelley.

A pin

A Plaque

An Award

So what do think. Should I make the award into a giant necklace?.................................. I joke, I joke!

I also get to try out Office 2010 when I becomes available to download probably early next week.

They got your name wrong? Send it back and demand a new one!

Congrats. That's a great achievement.

Well done .. really nice to see that there are hidden rewards in the voluntary work one does.

2 Questions

Did you consider it would be quicker and easier to change your name ??

Have you arranged a good salary for when they want you to join them ??

Well done again ..

Re: MVP stuff I got today!

No my MVP lead is very nice about sending out a new plaque so I don't need t legally change my name.

Well I would have a couple demands
-Ice cream maker and assortmant of fruits and chocloates ready with the necessary indgredients always in stock
-4,000,000 million pennies a year ($40,000) but paid in pennies just for the sake of inconvenience

something doesn't quite add up here unless the penny is worth more in scrap metal than in currency 4 billion pennies ( 4 million million) is a lot of pennies, just where would you keep them and how to transport them .. got a big piggy bank ??

Good Job, that's a nice reward and a good resume filler.
Can't wait to hear what you think of Office 2010. but I don't suppose they got rid of the Ribbon

Re: MVP stuff I got today!

I actually like the ribbon.
I never really liked 2003 and thought 2007 was a massive improvement over 2003.

Looks very nice, Neal.

My heartfelt congratulations to you.

But why wait for the DVD for Office 12?

Re: MVP stuff I got today!

I'm not waiting for the DVD's. Where did say that?

Anyways I got the heads up from my MVP lead and I wanted to make sure that I wasn't going over my NDA (non disclosure agreement).

I like office 2010 it seems faster and the ribbon is now useful unlike 2007. I'm no Office expert in all the technical areas but this systems seems a little easier to find everything I need.

Also When I installed 2010 it kept my 2007 settings so the migration was easy for me.

I don't know how much this is going to cost but its not worth it for me. I think the office programs are way too expensive for the single user.

Here are some screenshots.

Re: MVP stuff I got today!

I think 2003 is horribly complicated with all the options and menus stuck in the drop downs. I got my new Plaque on Friday (yesterday) and the spelled my name right!

Congrats to Microsoft! Well I should say that my MVP is very nice and after I told him my name was spelled wrong he said that that Microsoft would send a new one right away.
