I am officially nominated as a Microsoft MVP

Its official I got nominated as a Microsoft MVP today with this email

Quote:
Hello --------,

Thanks a lot for following through and sending me your contact information. First off, congratulations! Please consider this note an official nomination for the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award because you are noted for being exceptional in a Microsoft technical or product area and you help other in either online or offline communities.

I will be evaluating your nomination over the next 3 months. Below you’ll see a bit more about the MVP program, as well as any other information you may be able to send me to support your nomination. Please don’t get discouraged with a long list – that is a very comprehensive list an NO ONE has all of those bullet points. That list is just a reference for me to capture all community contributions. My MVPs participate in the community in a few ways, so that list captures it all  . If you are only active at techsupportforum.com, just say so, and that may be sufficient. But, I would also love to know if you participate at any other forums.

If you are not familiar with the MVP program, please visit our Web site at www.microsoft.com/mvp. I would really appreciate your response by Friday, May 8th. The final decision on who gets awarded will be made by July 1st, 2009.

Here is a high level summary of the MVP award:
What is Microsoft's MVP award?
The MVP award is given to amazing individuals for their outstanding contributions in a wide range of community activities: newsgroups, user groups, Web site hosting; speakers; and more. MVP status is awarded to the most active community contributors for their expertise, and voluntary willingness to share their knowledge to help other people realize their potential.

Why does the award exist?
Microsoft believes a robust, interactive user community is key to helping customers maximize the solutions and benefits from their software investments. The MVP award is Microsoft's way of recognizing those who have made a highly positive impact in the online and offline technical and product communities in which they participate.

What does the MVP Award include? What privileges do MVPs receive from Microsoft?
Along with the designation as a Microsoft MVP, awardees work with their own account manager at Microsoft; participate in private newsgroups; have a channel into product groups; receive a complimentary one-year subscription to MSDN or TechNet; are offered special training opportunities; receive a certificate commemorating the award; and more. Each awardee is requested to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), which allows Microsoft to share information about future technologies and products.

As we review nominations, it is helpful to have as much information regarding the technical community contributions (online and/or offline) of each individual. If you are interested in the program, please take a moment to provide us with the following information and descriptions of your contributions during the past 12 months. I already have some information your nominator provided, but it would be great if you can top it off in your own words.

1. Primary competency: technical area or product that you consider yourself an expert:
2. Secondary competencies: other technical areas or products in which you excel:
3. Did you have any speaking engagements in the past 12 months? If so, what were they?
4. What conferences or trade shows did you attend in the past 12 months?
5. Did you contribute to the event other than as a participant? If so, what service did you provide?
6. Did you participate in User Group/s in the past 12 months? If so, did you contribute to the group beyond being a participant (hold an office or lead session/s)?
7. Did you host any Web casts? How many? What subjects?
8. Did you participate in any authoring activities over the last twelve months? If yes, please describe:
o Technical Book/s
o Blog’s
o Techincal articles for publication
o White papers
o FAQs
o Technical Reviews /
o Editor
o Technical Reviewer
o Other? Please explain:

9. Did you participate in third-party Web boards and/or mailing

This is pretty cool and I just received a message on Friday from him about the nomination. To say the least, I am still pretty surprised this happened.

Re: I am officially nominated as a Microsoft MVP

I saw a post about someone having received such a message, also from a TSF team player .. so I am figuring that you are the one that was being referred to .. or there are other members with similar nominations on TSF
