Grin Why not a software forum?

I don't know if I'm in the right area or not, but anyway: why not create a software forum? There's one about hardware, BIOS, even gardening (very IT! :-P), but none about software, somewhere where people like me can just ask questions about programs and software. Could that be possible? Or is it already active somewhere I don't know?

Re: Why not a software forum?

I agree with this one. There is not one for general software issues. Theres help for microsoft software, games, networks, security, browser but theres no place to post if having problems with open office or other software that does not fall into the other specific catagories.

Idea Re: Why not a software forum?

What can be done now? Should I report it somewhere here?

Re: Why not a software forum?

This idea has been discussed before and rejected. With the thousands of software packages available, we wouldn't be able to offer comprehensive support for all of them.

Re: Why not a software forum?

IMO support for particular softwares is better sought on the software's own website. If the problem is specific to the software and not to the OS I often end up sending the OP there anyway (unless I know the solution of course).
