xp sp3 rtm gone to manufacturers
win update on 29th april

Unlike the previous beta versions of SP3, this one is hindered by any 'Real-Time' spyware scanners.
I have Spyware Terminator™, and due to the 'Real - Time' monitor "blocking" the registry changes, it caused an irrevocable BSOD, that only a Repair Installation fixed.
The moral of this story is; during the installation of SP3, disable these types of programs.
Once Spyware Terminator™ was disabled, SP3 installed without any hitches at all.
