I'm moving this week and have almost no money to do so. What really sucks is that the lack of money is my fault. All the work with moving lately and the general clutter (why does moving cause such muge messes in a home?) has made cooking both too much work and too difficult. As such we've been eating out. A lot. Now, I know I could easily save myself money even while eating out my yummying down on Dollar Menus but I like fried eggs and pancakes, so instead of spending $8 or less for McDonald's I end up spending about $25 (for two). Can you believe that IHOP charges $2.09 for TEA?! :upset:

Since where we're moving to is much smaller than where we are now much of our posessions will be going into storage. We got a good rate, but there's not even money for that.

I love my girlfriend but I can't stand her family.

I was raised in a cookie-cutter suburban home by both of my parents who were and are still married to one another. My parents never beat me or my siblings or otherwise hurt unless you consider being grounded a severe form of punishment. They encouraged us daily with school and everything else and even if we didn't get the highest marks or the blue ribbons they were still proud of us. They'd never put us second for anything.

My girlfriend was raised in a variety of places depending on where her mom's latest boyfriend/husband/****buddy wanted them to live. She was abused and even raped by members of her family. Her mother spent her days hopping from one bar to another while random members of the extended family looked after her and her siblings. Her aunt and uncle on her biological father's side (he committed suicide when she and her sister were 2) eventually took up the reins and looked after her and her twin sister for a few years. When she was sent back to live with her mother again it was with yet another new husband and another country. When she was 17 her mother finally just kicked her out in order to make room for her latest boy-toy. Now her mother is on her 4th husband and sits on her butt all day doing nothing.

I hate going out to where they live because I feel like I'm getting dirty just being there. It's a long drive and even in Texas gas is expensive enough to make me really want to cut back wherever possible. her family makes little to no effort to visit us but call on us to visit almost every weekend. I work weekends so my girlfriend will sometimes go out there.

We're supposed to go out there this evening but I really don't want to. We may have to move in about a month and we'll need a place to stay. Finding a home has been a pill so we'll likely be stuck with another apartment for a while. I want to dedicate as much time as I possibly can to finding us a new place to live, arranging the move, and finding the money to do it all. Meanwhile, her pregnant sister is calling her over almost every day to help her pack. I'm tired at the end of the day too but I can still manage to take care of a few simple things!

I'm at wits' end here!
