You can't do that.

So the last few CD's I bought I could not make a backup of. Forget trying to backup a DVD. Backups seem to be an evil word to big companies. I do not understand why either. Will they give me another CD if the one I have gets scratched? Nope, I have to buy yet another one at their price.
What happens when I want to move music to an MP3 player? Nope cannot do that if it is DRM music. Downloaded a song from iTunes? Sorry, unless you have an iPod you have to jump through hoops to get it to an MP3 player. If I bought the music why cannot I listen to it how I want?
I believe Radiohead had a great idea recently. They let users download their CD, AND let users set their own price. The result over 1.2 million CDs sold at an average of $8 per CD.
Companies are scared and still living in the 80's. If they opened their eyes they may see that most users are willing to pay for music and movies. But we want to be able to back it up. We want to listen to it on MP3 player. And we want it at a reasonable price.

You can burn the music from iTunes to a CD and then rip it as an MP3. If they are standard iTunes songs you can only use the file 7 times legally.

there's ways around doing all of it... but to do it legally is a waste of both money and time..

TM: The only downside is that it'd be like a 3rd generation file. The first one was compressed to be put on iTunes. Then it was burned and ripped again. The quality wouldn't be worth it by my standards.
Speed: OMG ROOTKIT LAWL!!!1!!one Good times... JTP: Illegal is a sick bird. it's against teh law. Odd: How legally? All I can think of (as far as backup goes) is buying two copies at retail prices and putting one away. |
