Lawnboy 10227

From what I can tell, the model number is gone..I have a 1996ish Lawn-Boy Silver Series Model 10227 (Strictly from the Silver Series label and photo's online). This lawnmower was actually a handmedown and does a great job. It's my first Lawnboy so my question is, are these things supposed to be this loud? It just seems abnormally loud to me. If it's not supposed to be this loud, how can I quiet it down?

Is the muffler on it?

You also have to remember its a 2 stroke so its going to be alot louder than a 4 stroke lawnmower.
