John Deere lawn tractor model 130.
I have an older mower that I recently purchased a new battery for. The battery keeps running down even though I'm mowing the lawn. It does not seem to recharge. I know because the blade turns off and I have to use a portable recharger to get the blade to work again. The motor will eventually shut down as well as the battery drains. Is this an easy fix that I can do or does it need a service call?

Re: John Deere lawn tractor model 130.
I would say your charging system is junk put an ohm meter on the wires coming from the stater **stater is located underneath the flywheel** make sure you have continuity (0-10 ohms) if get zero ohms when you do this the you have a short somewhere on the tractor.
