Tecumseh 5 hp. 2 stage 4 cycl engine 38052

Toro 521 snowthrower Tecumseh 5 hp. 2 stage 4 cycl engine model 38052

Problem: starts and runs ok on fast throttle when cold...once it warms up and I try to take choke off, it wants to stall...have to leave in half-choke position to keep it running, but performance is bad...when take choke off, it starts backfiring (flames out muffler)

What I've tried: cleaned carb...new plug...head gasket...carb gaskets...adjusted high speed (1 turn) and idle screw (1.5 turn)...no improvement

Suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Alzipski

The engine is running too lean, adjust the air/fuel mixture and it should solve the problem.
