NO fuel to B&S I/C 12 HP
I received a lawn tractor from a friend who has not used it in 11 years. Went through and cleaned it up new air filter, fuel filter, fuel lines, rebuilt carb, new pulse type fuel pump. Engine starts and sounds great when putting a little fuel in the bowl and using a little starting fluid to get it started. when that fuel is used up it quits. I have fuel all the up to the fuel pump. Put a vacuum gauge on the engine & it does pull a vacuum; needle bounces as it should for the pulse. The new fuel pump is plastic and not serviceable. The pump holds vacuum when I attach my mighty vac to the pulse line. I can also blow air through the pulse inlet on the fuel pump and the air will come out where the fuel should. What else can I do to diagnose this? could it be faulty new pump. Any thoughts out there?
Thanks! |
