16 hp v twin

i have a Cub Cadet with a 16 HP VTwin BS. It appears that the cam has caused a crack in the case at the end where the belt pullys are. The enging runs but stalls under the stress of the PTO. What is causing this?

Are you sure the case is cracked? Is it leaking or blowing oil?

yes it is cracked. It appears the cam created a crack in the case.

Do you have good compression on both cylinders ?

Please give us the model number of the engine.

If the camshaft is not tight, (because of the crack) you may not be getting the necessary valve clearance.

That's why it doesn't have any power. You'll have to find out why there is no compression on one cylinder, perhaps a valve is stuck or the seat is popped.
