22 HP B&S innermittent running problems?

I have a 22 HP Briggs and Stratton engine. Last year replaced the Carb. Mower will start and run great for a while. After a while, it will just all of a sudden start running rough, with a loss of power, but it will keep running. You can hear it popping ans sputtering. If I just stop mowing and sit there with it running like this, after a little while, I will here a click and it starts running fine again. It will do this off and on. Any thoughts?

How long do you have sit before it runs correctly again? I can't think what you would hear clicking.

Re: 22 HP B&S innermittent running problems?

When it is doing this, I can stop and idle down and just sit for usually under a minute and I will hear something click and then it will run fine again. It may do this again while I am mowing or not. I have noticed that the hotter the weather is outside while mowing, the more it does it. I don't really know how this has anything to do with it, but it does seem to affect it.

Any wires running to the bottom of the carb?

Why did you replace the carb? How long is "a while" - a minute, 5 minutes ?

Did you try to track down where that click is coming from?

Yes there are wires running to the bottom of the carb to the Anti-fireback solenoid. I replaced the carb because I was told the carb was bad, and there are no adjustment on it. "A While" would be after I mow for 45 minutes to 1 hour, it will start doing this.
