Please help with Tecumseh Motor
Hi and thanks for any help you may offer.
I have two gokarts for my kids. They are both identical with the same tecumseh motor (OHH60). I am having a very hard time trying to figure out what is wrong with one of the motors. I got both of these used and neither one of them were running. The first gokart all that I did was take of the carb, clean it out real good and it started right up. I tried the same thing with the second gokart. I can get it started now but only by pushing the primer bulb and holding it in. I took off the gas tank, cleaned it out and inspected the fuel line. I have even exchanged carbs with the gokart that runs fine and have the same problem so I don't think it is a carb problem. I have also installed a new spark plug. Thanks for any suggestions. Mike |

Re: Please help with Tecumseh Motor
When carburetors get fouled up, adjustments are made to compensate for the discrepancies. The engine begins to run with the new settings and they vary from engine to engine, but it doesn't mean they are correct. During the cleaning process, fine adjustments are easily overlooked and when they are reinstalled the engine will not run at all or it will make the problem worse. You mentioned that you swaped the carbs from one engine to another and it worked. I'm trying to understand, did you swap the working carburator to the engine that didn't run or vice versa?
