5.5 B&S oil leak

I have a 5 or 5.5 B&S push mower that for some reason unknown started spewing oil out of the filter box.
It started off fine ran for 1/2 hr then oil started coming out of the filter box, I put more oil in ran it for 2 minutes with no oil coming out then it started coming out again.
I removed the filter box the filter was soaked in oil I connected the hose back and ran the motor again with same results and found the oil is coming from below whatever that silver thing is in the filter box.
How do I fix it? Or do I need to replace it?

If it's not overfilled with 30W oil, you either have a bad breather assy (PCV valve) or there's another crankcase leak that's causing a low crankcase vacuum situation that's causing the breather not to check properly.
