Are the valves adjustable on this engine, if so is there a site I can get info on it. model 422457,Type 1209 01 Code 88111412. Thanks Clem

Hi r4etired & welcome to TSF.

Yes - the valves will be adjustable.

The clearances / tolerances are usually in the engine owners manual, but if you can't find your's, here is a link to the B&S site from where you should be able to down load the specs

Not like on an OHV. Your model number doesn't seem to come up? If it's an opposed twin you have to pull the cylinder head, remove the valve so you can stem the valve, (cut the bottom off) to get more clearance. If there's too much clearance you need to grind the seat and or face the valve. It's old scholl solid lifters on an opposed twin.
