Re: lawnmowers

If you're not comfortable doing your own repairs, I'd suggest you take the mower to a shop, electrical problems can be difficult to diagnose. That being said...
I'm assuming the battery is being drained, quickly? I would check the battery cables first, make sure the ends are good.
Does the mower have an ammeter (measures current output)? If so, what does it read?

Re: lawnmowers

Well then you're gonna need some special tools (multimeter) and a service manual to figure out which part, could be the stator, but without knowing the model# I couldn't tell you for sure, some models have extra modules that can go bad.

Well, the stator is normally what actually generates the current, but depending on the model, if there's no charge getting to the battery, there are other modules between the stator and the battery that can go bad.
