2001 Yardman P Mower rear drive issue
Hello, I have a 2001 yardman powered drive push mower. Model no is 12A-979L062. It's belt driven. Lately the drive has been slipping after a few minutes of use. It will work for, say, 50 feet or so and then completely stop especially once the bag starts getting heavier. I can hear the drive working but the mover will not move. I replaced the belt and the tension on the pully is great. It almost seems as if the large rear pully or the belt or both are heating up and slipping. The transmission assembly seems to be funtioning correctly. The large rear pully has a very smooth polished look to the surface that the belt rides on. Could this be the problem and is a new pully needed or should I just rough up th pully surface and put it back together? Thanks!
