briggs generator
i have a old briggs and stratton generator. i just started it up today after it has been sitting for a few years. it started up fine and ran great
. but it does not seem to be producing any electricity . does anyone know what the problem could be and what should i do . |

could be sticky brushes on the generator commutator, or it may need excitng which if memory serves me correctly is done by attaching a 12volt battery to the brush holders and starting the generator, this is assuming it was generating before not being used for a few years.
