1991 Camaro starting problem
I have a 1991 camaro, 150k V6. It doesn't start the first or second tries usually. Once it does start, it stalls and needs to be started again. It just started doing this, I fixed the egr valve thinking that was the problem, but it still does it. Once it's running, it's fine but after about 10 minutes, if I stop and then accelerate, the RPM drops and I have to speed up very slowly to get going again. Help?

Re: 1991 Camaro starting problem
Hi lilliblair
Remove any engine codes and please post them. Remove the IAC motor ( Idle Air Control) and clean it by using decorbonizer spray, also shoot a little decarb through the idle air port hole to clear out carbon deposits that maybe stuck in there. Re-install and start up the engine If the IAC is working then the problem should clear up. post back your findings. |
