dodge 2500 brakes

97 dodge 2500 4x4 the brake peddal slowly goes to the floor and the p/s looses assist.rear brakes also tend to lock up early.tried a new p/s pump which did did help the steering somewhat.this truck has hydra boost brakes.help

A fading brake pedal could be the Master Cylinder. Look at the rear of the Master Cylinder for leakage.

thought of that but could also be abs unit.it's just very odd that the steering would loose it's assist at the same time as the pedal drop.

Hairkat...it sounds like it may be the hydroboost unit on the firewall having problems - by any chance, are any of the warning lights on?

no warning lights at all.I am leaning towards the abs system dumping inappropriate-ly.the reason for my thinking is the rear brakes locking up prematurely.
