2001 jeep cherokee?

My 2001 jeep Cherokee wont go past 20mph,i don't no what's the problem? any help would be grateful.

The engine is being starved for fuel. Hook up a fuel pressure tester and test the fuel pump for the amount of fuel going into the engine. Also post any trouble codes that are detected from the computer.

Do the engine rpms go high? It could be a transmission problem. Transmission speed sensors are very common failures on these vehicles.
