1996 Jeep Cherokee Ignition Problem
I have no spark. I changed the plugs, wires, & coil. There is no power to the coil on my multimeter. The cps has 5 volts, ground, & zero at the plug sockets. I connected the plug & backshot it & got the same readings. Should there be voltage coming out, since there is 5 V going to the sensor?
The engine just spins. The timing chain is not broken. The fuel pump checks good. Any suggestions? |

Re: 1996 Jeep Cherokee Ignition Problem
Hi cairojeeper
Make sure that the battery is good and fully charged. Jeeps are finicky when it comes to ignition issues, if battery voltage drops significantly it will not energize the the rest of the system. That said, check all fuses to the ignition, check for any loose, broken or corroded wires, make sure that all grounds are clean and tight. If everything checks out OK, have the crank sensor tested for open or short condition. post back your findings. |
