1996 gmc sonoma acceleration problems

i have a 1996 gmc sonoma truck. it runs good but when it rains or is cold out it wont accelerate correctly. it does idle fine but when i press the gas pedle it almost feels like its starving for fuel and losses all power. but if i back off the gas a little it comes right back. and now my check engine light is on. looking for suggestions on where to begin in fixing this issue.

Re: 1996 gmc sonoma acceleration problems

Hi the crash1972

The check engine light warns the driver that the engine sensors have registered a problem. Extracting the codes and posting them here will help in performing a diagnosis on what the problem is.

please post the check engine codes.

you can go to most autoparts stores and they will get the engine codes for free. Just want to add this in so you know how to go about getting the codes.
