How to do the TDC (Top Dead Center) on my 1995 VW golf gl canadian 1.8L for the timing belt.

it's different for manual or auto trans . access hole in top of trans to view flywheel/drive plate. Pointer built into trans case lines up with line on flywheel/drive plate next to a "0" indicating TDC.
