1992 nissan sentra 2 dr 1.6... help please!

I need some help. The short story is that my headlights work. but nothing else. no cig. lighter, no heater, no rear running lights, brake lights, reverse lights, fan, anything... the car starts like a champ, but it has uncharacteristically high rev at start up. this just happened today. its not a previous problem. i checked all the fuses on the inside, and near the battery. i have a bit of corrosion on my neg. terminal on my battery, but i dont think that is the problem... im thinking it might be a relay, but i want to see what you guys have to say. Thanks guys.

Hi nwkenning

Have the ignition wires to the starter checked, look for any broken , burned or corroded wires to the solenoid, look for burned out fusible links and repair as necessary. If everything checks out OK, locate and test the body module. The body module controls all accessories such as: lights, power windows, power locks, radio, and many others. Clean off the battery terminals, make sure they are tightly secured.

post back your findings.

Hey. Good call on the fusible link. One of the three links burned through. i replaced it and all is well. Better than well actually. i discovered that my dome light really works... lol. i haven't had light in the car since i bought it. i got out of work last night to discover that my dome light had been on all day. luckily the battery still had enough juice to start the car. thanks for the help Octaneman
