98 dodge ram timing question ?

hello and thanks for looking!!

i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 4+4 360 eng (dont remember liters)

how do you time it with a timing light?

I stopped at a service station & he wanted 70$ said something about disabling the computer?

any help appreciated !!

Hi kenny111111

The mechanic meant that he needs access to the timing connector that is next to the computer, to get access to the computer, the mechanic may need to remove the lower panels or shrouds surrounding it which takes a bit of time.

gone are the days you can time it yourself? if i have a normal inductive timing light?

Not necessarily keny111111 if your timing light has manual advance settings you can still do it. if the light does not have the settings, without disconnecting the wire, your out of luck.
