Re: my 03 chevy

Hi chevtrxrck and welcome to TSF,

If the problem didn't exist before you changed the hub, I would take a closer look at the new hub installation. The ABS only pluses when the signal from the left front, right front or the rear axle is not in sync with the other two. Inside each of the two front hubs is a gear that the ABS sensors look at to determine rotation. Normally the rear wheels are handles with one sensor which is mounted on the rear of the transmission. It looks at the output shaft to know that the rear wheels are rotating. Same sensor is usually used for vehicle speed. All three of theses signals go to the PCM.

Hope this helps,
Mack1

This strongly points to the ABS trying to function (the pulsing you feel on the brake pedal). To stop the pulsing, the front wheel sensors and the speed sensor from the rear of the transmission have to produce the same number of pluses per revolution of the wheels. If your speedometer works, then the problem is with one of the wheel sensors and I would have to guess that it is the one that you replaced.

Was that the short cable at the pickup sensor? It usually disconnects just above the wheel on the Aframe. You need to make sure that it has a good connection there. See if you can unplug it and measure the resistance of the sensor. It should measure about 800 to 1000 ohms.

Best regards,
Mack1
