Dodge Dakota blows fuses
My son has a 1997 Dodge Dakota V-6. It keeps blowing the altenator fuse. Can you tell me where and how to locate and repair the problem?

Re: Dodge Dakota blows fuses
Hi cantcutmustard and welcome to TSF,
Would you happen to have some electrical prints that you could post for the charging circuit? I'd be interested in knowing what the alternator fuse is used for. Normally the ignition switch supplies magnitizing power to the alternator and the alternator puts power out to the battery through a fusible link. What is the ampere rating on that fuse? Very best regards, Mack1

Re: Dodge Dakota blows fuses
Thank you for offering to help. I got the information about the blowing fuses from my son. I can only guees that it would be 30 amp. I am not where I can access the truck. My son is extremely limited as far as working on vehicles. That is the reason I posted as I was trying to intersept him working on it. Too late; he has fried the computer. Again thanks for the attempt.
