Replacement clutch warranty
My son paid a large amount for a clutch repair and after 9 months, 11,000 miles, it's slipping bad. Took it back to the same shop (FS), paid another $45,and they said it needs to be replaced... again. Most replacement clutch kits online have a 12 mo. warranty, what should I expect from a "licensed" service center? Is this feasible? (1998 Nissan Altima 4 Cyl 2.4L)

Re: Replacement clutch warranty
I would think the clutch would have at least a 12 mo. warranty for a rebuild and possibly more for a new one. I would definitely question the place that replaced it about it.

Re: Replacement clutch warranty
New cars do have a warranty on brake lining, and clutch wear unless a mechanical defect is found. If the clutch lining is worn out and the linkage(not sure if this is a cable or hydrologic operated system) shows no sign of sticking or binding then it the next logical place to look is the operator. Riding the petal using too high a gear to start and slipping the clutch or using it hold the car on a hill at red lights are the primary causes.
