Pin Onboard cumpeter does not link with scanner

I have a 1994 chevy blazer and the obii scanner cant read the codes or communicate with on board computer. how do I check the system for proper operation?

how to test an onboard computer for a chevy blazer, 4x4 turbo deisel automatic transmission, engine keeps shutting down while you are driving.

I presume it's an OBDI vehicle. I also presume the scan tool or code reader is also OBDI capable and in working condition. If these things are true, check the fuse that powers the port that scan tool plugs into.

In 1996 the connector for the scan tool was connected to the "running light" fuse with no mention of the scan tool connector on the fuse panel. Who knows what they did in 94.

In a 1994 blazer you should still be able to read the codes through the check engine light using the paperclip trick. I'm not 100% positive of this, but if you have a haynes or chilton manual for the vehicle, check the emissions control chapter for info on checking codes, it might mention a paperclip trick, on the pages right before it lists the codes.

If you've already checked the book, then please just disregard all that.
