Nissan 300zx Rough Idle, Hesitation until 1700 rpm
I have an 86 300zx. The water pump went out and caused a temperature spike which ended in what I can assume is vapor lock. The car will run great at high rpm but at starting from dead stop or shifting gears, the car sputters and misses. I've heard that this is a sign of a dead hole but compression is still as good as to be expected from a 23 year old car. I'm a diesel mechanic and am stumped when it comes to cars so I know the lingo, just not the problem.
