Leveling kit
I have a chevy 98 silverado and was planning on making it ride a little higher. I was gonna get a rear leveling kit and nothing on the front. or just go with a full suspension lift. anyone have an opinion?

Re: Leveling kit
That'll work
. You will never level up by working on one end. To jack up the rear only throws the weight to the front. Great for burnouts but not effective for performance. Raise the front to increase traction.... IF you have the power. If you have a sagging rear, then that's where you start. Weak or broken springs may be the cause. If your Silverado has a decent posture only a lift will give you what you want..... you will have to address all 4 corners to get a level ride and increase height. |

Re: Leveling kit
If the rear is hanging low, then there is a good chance that a broken or well over-worked leaf spring is to blame. If you just want to bolster the ride height or the weight rating, add a leaf to the rear springs. Suspension shops can install them or sell springs with a center pin if you would rather do it yourself. If it brings the rear up too far, you can tighten the torque rods on the front end to make it level at the expense of ride comfort.

Re: Leveling kit
yeah i have some power, V8 350. alright so im gonna check out the leaf springs and see what i can do there but a full suspension is gonna be too much for me right now. maybe a 3 inch body lift will hold me over. if i do get the body can i add in the suspension later when i get the money?
